Research of DC emergency distribution system in nuclear plants

  • The emergency distribution system plays the most important role in the deep defense system of nuclear plants,and is directly related to the safety of nuclear plants. Currently, in China and foreign nuclear plants, the power distribution system generally adopts an AC system. Although the AC system is the mainstream solution for various distribution systems, it also has some drawbacks, such as relatively complex protection and control, high line losses, multiple power access restrictions, and the risk of common faults. In contrast, DC distribution systems have advantages such as larger transmission capacity, lower transmission loss rate, higher power supply quality,flexible and friendly access and control.This article proposes a kind of DC emergency power distribution scheme for nuclear plants, which was verified through simulation and experiments. This scheme can serve as a reference for the current design of emergency distribution systems in nuclear plants.
