Application of fault current limiting technology in power system of offshore platform

In recent years, with the application of power networking technology in offshore oil fields, the capacity and complexity of offshore power grids are constantly expanding, which increases short-circuit fault current of power system and challenges the limitation of short-circuit current. This paper summarizes the research and development status of fault current limiting technology at home and abroad, discusses the different application occasions of fault current limiting technology in power grid, analyzes the applicability of fault current limiting devices in offshore power grid with engineering cases, and provides reference for similar fault current limiting problems in subsequent projects.
