Analysis of asymmetric duty cycle DAB modulation strategy based on variable inductance

  • Explores the use of variable inductance(VI) as an energy transfer element in dual active bridge(DAB)converters. By using controlled variable inductors, the optimal switching area in the operation of phase-shifting DABs can be extended, and thus, compared to traditional solutions, high efficiency can be achieved over a wider load range. This method takes variable inductance and phase shift ratio as the main control parameters, which can achieve zero voltage switching(ZVS) in a wide range of load changes, as well as reduce reflux power and other goals. Among them, the proposed variable inductance can change its inductance by applying bias current to the dual E-type inductor. Finally, the effectiveness and superiority of the proposed method were verified through experiments, and the results showed that the method can achieve ZVS and reduce reflux power over a wide load range.
