  • The complete set of high-voltage mobile on-board substation facilities can help countries with backward infrastructure and low self-sufficiency rate of their own industrial products to quickly realize the grid hub node from scratch, and achieve an immediate effect on the development of the country’s power grid. Its advantages are self-evident, especially in some African countries with extremely underdeveloped power system. This paper introduces the design principle, layout and key technical problems of 230 kV mobile substation. In view of the characteristics of large capacity, high voltage and high altitude transformer, such as large volume, heavy weight and difficult transportation, the optimal design scheme of transformer and HGIS equipment is proposed; In view of the complex road conditions, in order to ensure that the equipment can arrive at the project site after a long journey, it is necessary to recontrol the weight of the four car body modules, redistribute the load, and recheck the anti-seismic capacity of the trailer’s body. For the lightning protection and grounding design of vehicle mounted mobile substation, multiple methods are adopted to protect at the same time.
