Simulation of deformation control scheme and combination properties verification of titanium SLM components with U-shaped long and thin structure

  • In order to optimize the working scheme of thin-wall titanium SLM parts and enhance the conformity rate, this study mainly focus on iterating the forming scheme of titanium SLM components with typical long and thin U-shaped structure, which was based on pre-treatment process design and simulation software platform.Meanwhile, the feasibility of the simulation iteration results were verified. It showed that stress deformation was mainly distributed in edge of the straight gussets and long-arm parts. Lattice supports were applied to accomplish the purpose of controlling distortion, which guaranteed the 3D-scan result was within the scope of qualification.The results of comprehensive performance testing showed that the ultimate strength were 1029.5MPa(XY) and 1026.2MPa(Z), and elongation were 12.1%(XY) and 11.2%(Z) in average, respectively, which was nearly isotropy,while the results of room temperature impact test were 31.4J(XY) and 48.6J(Z), which showed apparently anisotropy.
